Cold pressing is a mechanical extraction process, also known as expression or mechanical separation. Historically, cold-pressed oils were extracted by hand, and required the use of special sponges that could absorb the plant oils and liquid. The sponges will then be pressed into a vice-like device over a container. In today's era this work is done with the help of electrical powered mechanical machines
Pomace Olive Oil (پامیس روغنِ زیتون) is obtained from the residual olive pulp after the first extraction of extra virgin olive oil. Through advanced refining, this oil becomes highly stable at elevated temperatures, making it an excellent choice for deep frying, sautéing, and commercial cooking.
Unlike extra virgin olive oil, Pomace Olive Oil has a higher smoke point, meaning it does not burn or break down easily, thus maintaining food quality and safety during cooking.
In Unani & traditional practices, Pomace Olive Oil is also widely used for therapeutic massage, especially for:
- Joint stiffness
- Muscle pain
- Cold-related body aches
- Dry and rough skin
Its light, non-greasy nature allows deep penetration into tissues, improving circulation and relaxation.
